Quick Home Styling Tricks

by kathyregini | Comments Off on Quick Home Styling Tricks

Here’s two of tricks I frequently use when styling a home for sale or for enjoyment…

  1. The Power of Three. Three objects arranged in a cluster makes for a great art grouping. Try things of different heights and sizes and shapes for maximum effect. I like a connecting theme or color.

  1. Book Shelves 101. Rather than boring rows of books, create interest by removing some of the books and interjecting interesting objects to break up the spaces, as well has rearranging some of the books to be stacked for variety.

Home Staging as Part of your Selling Strategy

by kathyregini | Comments Off on Home Staging as Part of your Selling Strategy

According to the National Association of Realtors, “a staged home will sell for 17% more on average than a non-staged home, and 95% of staged homes sell in 11 days or less. That is statistically 87% faster”, Nov 4, 2015.

Sheet Backsplash to Update your Kitchen

by kathyregini | Comments Off on Sheet Backsplash to Update your Kitchen

Sheet backsplash is becoming very popular. The continuous material is very functional as it eliminates the need for grout, making cleanup super easy. It’s also sleek and doesn’t compete with some of the busier granite counter tops with lots of movement. Here are a few examples in glass, quartz & stainless steel.

Biggest Remodeling Mistakes

by kathyregini | Comments Off on Biggest Remodeling Mistakes

After ten years in the business, I’ve been a part of a lot of remodeling projects. Three things come to mind that I wish I could tell everyone before they start:

1. Plan on Chaos-It will be messy, loud and frustrating. Unexpected delays and inevitable inconveniences that come from living in a construction zone are a part of the process. You’ll handle the lows better if you expect this from the start.

2. Don’t look for the cheapest materials-you get what you pay for for the most part. Invest in quality.

3. Don’t go too trendy…the latest & hottest thing is usually short term. Go classic that will stand the test of time.

Spa Master Bath

by kathyregini | Comments Off on Spa Master Bath

The free standing tub is the main design element in this master bath, and I have to say this is one of my favorite master baths of all time. The sky lights, the wood and stone accents and the crisp white walls make it so welcoming. Just looking at it makes you relax!

by kathyregini | Comments Off on Ways to Create a Beautiful Dining Room

A welcoming and beautiful dining room doesn’t just happen by putting a table down with some chairs around it. Just like the rest of the house, the details really matter. If you feel like your eating space could use a little something, here are a few ideas:

  1. Add a painted deep colored accent wall with or a modern wallpaper.
  2. Put in really gorgeous lighting
  3. Have a natural and sculptural centerpiece
  4. Add some wine storage
  5. Put down a cool area rug under the tableSullivan-Design-Studio_Coastal-Chic_Dining-Room.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.966.773 GH2011_Dining-Room-Wide-Shot_s4x3.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.966.725 CI_Lisa_Sherry-BHI-Kitchen-4.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.966.725 Ana-Donahue_Big-City-Digs_7.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.966.1208 ad3fe5067127 starburst-mirror-Dining-Room-Midcentury-with-console-table-dining-table-gray-accent-wall Casual-and-modern-dining-room-cushions-on-a-bench-white-dining-chairs-mix-in-natural-elements how-to-build-a-wine-rack-Kitchen-Contemporary-with-artwork-breakfast-bar-built
